Mashup
There is only one orientation that is acceptable. All others are wrong. It was absolutely surgical. However if we treat buildings more like organisms, which we can have relationships with, and thinking holistically about the entire building envelope system, we can create active printed structures that can transform and reconfigure – change shape, appearance, and properties - that respond to external cues.Perspective Sketches

Sketchup model, moving elements and folly
The folly is based on the sketch "reaching out for the truth". It features a spiraling tube expanding out and upwards.

The bridge is arranged in 3 discrete "blocks" of usable spaces, connected with a walkway that twists and zigzags around these blocks. The glass panel roofs above these spaces are pieced together in seemingly random configurations, embodying the animated and organic theme of the mashup.
The jagged edges and sharp corners are derived from the Seattle Public Library building - which is composed of a series of misaligned prisms - creating a building that is uniformly non-uniform.
From a bird's eye view the folly appear to be growing and reaching towards the bridge, displaying a interplay between the building and the environment, and therefore "responding to external cues".
Typically functioning as a standard teaching space, the lecture theatre can seat an audience of 100 people. Upon demand, the walls and seats of the theatre reconfigures to form an open gathering space, with a spectacular view of the distant landscape. Here shown in nighttime.
Two wall panels move along rails fitted across the studio rooms and gallery space. These two panels slot into a combination the 4 possible positions, allowing the occupants to control the level of lighting as desired.
