"Before the first class"

Part 1

A: Best piece of creative work

This is a pencil drawing of a fighter aircraft during landing. I tried drawing white clouds in the background but they turned out horrible, so I coloured them in and made it rainy instead.

B: A great piece of architecture
Located in Paris, Jean Renaudie's building complex is composed of eight individual buildings, each containing a mixture of shops, offices and living spaces. The buildings spread out across both sides of the street, connected by an overhanging corridor. Each room is an uniquely shaped polygon, assembled together to create the rugged and industrious look.

C: An original photograph of something beautiful
This close up of the Bird's Nest stadium was taken a few years ago during my visit to Beijing. The photo shows the tangled and interwoven trusses that inspired the building's name, however it is unable to convey the scale of the structure. Each of the steel columns shown is wide enough for a person to walk on, and this frame contains only a fraction of the 40,000 tonnes of steel that makes up the structure.

Part 2

Revival Cycles: Metal, contrasting, industrious

Steinway & Sons: Extrusion, standing, sleek

Heston Blumenthal: Nature, growing, vibrant
